Dramatic Portraits 3 days ago

This may not look like a party to you, but if you listen real carefully, you can hear an americano / ’50s / blues band playing in the background. I was sorting through images from the ashley+alan bachelor party in Anacortes and found these.

As the night was waning, I was inspired by two sconce lights fixed to the wall (see last image). They reminded me of the vertical studio lights that illuminate the sides of faces really well. Unfortunately, they didn’t create any catchlights in the eyes.

The band was great that night – I wish I had remembered their name. You might be able to pick out a few faces here from Garage Voice.

You may remember these two from their engagement photos last winter. That was a cold day for photos.

Ruby and Novently were married on a beautiful overcast day in Monroe, WA. Thanks to you both for inviting me to be a part of your wedding day!

One thing I’ve noticed cool Asian kids doing these days, is the peace sign in their photographs. They need to give credit where credit is do, because I started this. Maybe it’s not a new thing. Maybe I’m copying them.

Hmmmmmm…

This is Karen and Jared. They met online. Yes, it really happens!

These two were so easy to work with. It was as if they had been models all their life. It was evident that they have a solid relationship.

We dodged the Seattle rain for most of the shoot, but that made things more fun. I look forward to seeing them again for their wedding in December.
